Warner Brothers Studio Tour - Event Review

Have you ever wanted to drink coffee at Central Perk?  Or sit in Sheldon’s spot? Or take a picture in front of the red door of the Tanner house?  All of that and so much more is possible on the Warner Brothers Studio Tour!

There are three different tour experiences offered at Warner Brothers.  The Basic Studio Tour, The Classics Tour, and The Deluxe Tour. After my experience on the basic tour, I will definitely be going back for the other two options.

The day started out with an introductory video to prepare you for just how much you would see on your tour.  If English is not your first language, guests have the option of taking the tour in Spanish. After meeting our tour guide, you will board your truck and start the day!

The first part of the tour consists of the stages.  This is where things like Ellen and Conan are filmed.  You’ll also see the stages where the filmed “Friends,” “Big Bang Theory,” and “Two and a Half Men.”  After driving a short distance, we got off the truck and went into the prop house, where there is over half a million props from almost any movie you could think of!  Following that, we went into the BatCave to see the evolution of the BatMobile!

One of the best parts of the tour was going onto the real working set of Shameless.  I’m sure that the set each group visits varies and changes over time, but it was a great experience being in the same space that you see on TV.

Another great piece of the tour was the archive!  This is where they display costumes various movies.  Again, I’m sure that this changes based on when you would go, but on my tour we got to see the costumes and props from Aquaman, Wonder Woman, and Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts.  Seeing the costumes is awesome, but having an amazing tour guide who has so many cool facts about them makes it so much better!

The third leg of the tour is the backlot, this is where you find the cityscapes and small towns, such as the city streets of NY.  This section is full of awesome information about some of the best movies and TV shows. The best part is that if you see a set that you recognize and love, just tell your tour guide that you want to hop off and take a picture, and they’ll stop the truck for you to do just that! This makes for some amazing photo ops and even more information about the set!

The last stop is called “Script to Screen.”  This is where you can see the evolution of how an idea becomes a reality.  You can see all the Oscars, Emmy’s, and other awards that Warner Brothers have won through the years.  You get to take photos at Central Perk, and sit in Sheldon’s spot too! There’s short presentations where you can see how sound effects are created and how music scores enhance a scene.  Don’t forget to stop by the gift shop on the way out!

I would highly recommend going to the Warner Brothers Tour if you’re going to be in the LA area.  It is surely to be an experience you’ll never forget!
